I needed good lighting for this image so like the ‘several points in a deliberate shape’ image I had set up my shoot by the large patio windows in my lounge, I used brown velvet as a background on a beanbag cube. I used my 18 – 75mm lens with clos e up lenses stacked and a focal length of 55mm. My camera was set at aperture priority f/9, shutter speed 1/80 sec and an ISO of 640.
This image was taken as a straight line across the middle of the frame in an attempt to produce ‘several points in a deliberate shape’, which didn’t really create a deliberate shape, just a line. I liked the image so kept it with the view of using it somehow. To create the diagonal I used Lightroom to turn the image using the grid to create the diagonal, I was careful to include equal amounts of the flower head either side of the central flower before cropping. I used the shadow tool to darken slightly so as to show the petals a little more and take the brightness out of it slightly.

Your diagonal image showing the centres of flowers at the extreme corners of the frame with one main image centrally placed - its simple yet elegant placing the well exposed flowers against a dark background that shows off the flowes well. Your lighting gives enough contouring and definition to show the texture. It's better than the 3 tulips which, while meeting the brief, is a fairly standard approach.
