Assignment 2 - single point dominating the composition

This image was taken in the garden centre, it was hard to find a subject I wanted to photograph without undesirables in the background. I liked the color and smooth surface along with the leaves in both colour and texture, I felt the bright colour would make a good ‘single point’ as the contrast dominates the composition. I set my camera to aperture priority f/5.6, the shutter speed was 1.64 sec, my ISO was set at 400 as I was in the greenhouse of the garden centre and the light a little limited, my focal length was 49mm.
