Snow leopard cubs, Twycross Zoo. This photograph was amongst many taken of the snow leopards and their cubs. I focused on the eyes of the cub near the middle of the frame. The photo is balanced by the cubs each looking in the opposite direction and snuggled together with the softness of the fur across the bottom of the frame. The photo was taken using a telephoto lens at 300mm, f7.1 1/400. I carried out some processing using adobe photoshop in order to remove the metal enclosure in the background.
Student feedback:
The soft I feel is less successful. It's a perfectly good image but I wonder if soft is really the main attribute conveyed here. Also I think the image is slightly over exposed and in your post production removing the enclosure you have introduced some artifacts - on the end of the cub's nose, around the forehead and ears.
