Project Focus - exercise: focus with a set aperture

I needed to find a scene which has depth, I'd tried a few different things but scrapped them all when I purchased my new camera, so I've completed this exercise again, not only because the photographs are better but also in order to get to know my new camera. I took three books and placed them roughly the same distance apart on the window sill.

The aperture was at the lowest setting of f/4.5 for each picture.

Picture 1 focuses on the yellow book, I repeated this exercise twice before I realised that the text on the front cover is not very crisp anyway, looking at the text on the top of the cover the focus can be seen.

Picture 2 focuses on the lettering of Persion Fire

Picture 3 focuses on the gold lettering
